Betty Sue Rhodes
July 7, 1933 – January 22, 2021
Betty Sue Rhodes, 87, passed peacefully at home with those who love her on January 22, 2021. Betty was born on July 7, 1933 in Peeltown, Texas in Kaufman County. She graduated from Kemp High School in 1950 and headed to Dallas to work and live. She met the love of her life, S.F. Rhodes who she married in 1952. Betty retired from the State Fair of Texas in 1996 where she was referred to as "Payroll Betty" and managed the payroll. She enjoyed her work there and the many friends she made. Left to cherish her memory are her children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister and many nieces and nephews. Betty attended Pleasantwood Baptist Church in Dallas, First Baptist Church in Kaufman and First United Methodist Church in Rockwall where she made dear friends and lived out her faith. Mother cherished life and made sure that all she came in contact with did as well. Mother was a prayer warrior, missionary and evangelist to her children. The family appreciates the loving care provided by Liberty Heights Senior Living, NolaHands Caregivers, and Holding Hands Hospice.
