He was born July 19, 1940 in Somerville, Massachusetts, the son of John and Ellen "Nellie" (O'Rourke) Sullivan.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Armelia C. "Emily" Armatys on Sept. 30, 1961 at the St. Odilo Catholic Church in Berwyn, IL. Tom was an expert carpenter and construction supervisor. His building legacy can be seen along Interstate 88. He was passionate about the environment and never met an animal he didn't love.
He was predeceased by his parents; an infant twin-sister, Theresa Sullivan and sister, Margaret "Peggy" Cornett.
He is survived by his loving and most amazing wife of 59 years, Emily Sullivan who devoted herself to providing care and comfort throughout his illness; 4 children, Thomas M. (Heather) Sullivan, Denise (Brett) Lemajeur, Maureen (Mark) Bilek and Karen (Raymond) Tarallo; brother, John Sullivan; 2 sisters, Nora Francis Sargent and Elizabeth "Betty" (Pete) Cordaro; 10 grandchildren, Raymond "RJ" and Ryan Tarallo, Shannon, Courtney and Kaylin Lemajeur, Mark "MJ", Matt and Luke Bilek and Connor and Laura Sullivan.
Private graveside services will be held at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois with the Pastor David Rogula, Chaplin of the Serenity Hospice and Home officiating. A memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home.
