Memorial Services for Mr. Jack Carter, age 95 of Wadley, will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 2:00 P.M. with Kenneth Spradlin speaking. A celebration of life will take place from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family requests masks to be worn.

Mr. Carter passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. Jack was born in Marshall County, Alabama but spent most of his life in Wadley. He was a carpenter by trade, and his favorite things in life were coon hunting, fishing, woodworking, and riding his tractor.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Jean Carter of Phenix City; two daughters: Cindy Eide (Frankie) of Columbus, GA and Dawn Davis (Robert) of Ashland; one son, Rodney Clark (Heather) of Phenix City and one son-in-law, Mike Mathis of Montevallo; seven grandchildren: Adam McCollum, Miranda Riley, Neal Henry, Cassie Varner, Kara Clark, Hunter Adamson, and Brendon Clark; 12 great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Carter and Iola Taylor Carter; one son, Randy Carter; one daughter, Kathy Mathis, and all of his brothers and sisters.

The family requests no flowers; however donations can be made to the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center: 88073 Hwy 9, Lineville AL 36266.
