Horace Lee Brown was born in Monroe, Louisiana on January 21, 1950 to the Late Henry Horace Brown and the Late Selma Rivers Brown. Horace accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour at an early age with the Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Reverend S. J. Scott and Reverend John L. Russell, Sr.

Later, Horace rededicated his life with the Greater New Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John L. Russel, II.

Horace attended school in the Monroe City School System. he was a graduate of Carroll High School Class of 1970.

Horace was employed by the City of Monroe Beautification Department for 17 years. He was an outspoken person, and was a well-known DJ in the City by the name of 'The Horseman'.

Horace was preceded in death by his father Henry H. Brown, his mother, Selma Rivers Brown, his brother, Frederick 'Ned' Brown and his sister Gloria Rivers Roach.

Horace leaves to cherish his memories; wife Yolanda Glass Brown, daughter Makyia Glass, two (2) stepdaughters: Yolanda Beard; Niecy Johnson; three (3) sons Calvin Pitts, Eric Montrell Rogers and Terrence Beard; two (2) stepsons Michael Johnson (Mane) and D'Ervin Ampy of Monroe, LA; two (2) granddaughters, Myroneshia Bolden, Kelceshia Bolden and D'Necia Jackson of Monroe, LA; two (2) sisters Gloria Brown Handy (Robert), Twanda Rivers Myers; one (1) brother Neal James Brown Monroe, LA (2) Aunts, Gloria Goldsmith, Chicago, ILL and Rosie Lee Pitts, Texas City, Texas, Great Uncle, Johnathan Smart of Monroe, LA and a host of nieces, great nieces, great great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great great nephews, relatives and friends.
