Longtime Basin, Wyoming resident, Robert (Bob) Allen Gish Jr., 90 passed away March 24, 2021 at the Wyoming Retirement Center. Bob was born in Moreni, Romania on June 3, 1930 to Robert Allen Gish Sr and Dorothy (Zaring) Gish. He had moved to the Big Horn Basin in 1942 and completed High School in Basin. Bob married Marilyn Snelling in Lovell, WY August 26, 1956. Bob served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as an officer. His decorations include the Korean Service Medal, UN-Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Bob went to college at the University of Wyoming and was an attorney. He was an active volunteer in our community, past State Commander of the American Legion, Masons and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Basin since 1942.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Those left behind and cherishing his memory include wife, Marilyn Gish of Basin; daughters Shelley Way of Cheyenne; Leigh (Rick) Bopp of Las Vegas, NV. His legacy includes four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Graveside service with military honors will take place in the summer.
