She was born on December 23, 1932 in Sycamore to E. Ross and Florence (Sonne) Billings.
Carol was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sycamore. She had been very active in the church, holding several positions over the years. She was still part of the Caregivers committee until recently.
Carol was a receptionist and switchboard operator at Turner Brass for 30 years. When not at work, Carol enjoyed traveling both with family and on her own. She also enjoyed singing, watching soap operas, playing bingo and socializing with friends. Her quick wit and great sense of humor kept those around her laughing.
Survivors include her son, Michael Wells and his children, Timothy Wells, Justin Wells and his son, Justin, Jr., and Kris Wells and Carol's second son, Jay Wells and his children, Jaime Wells, Emily (Matt) Rosen and their daughter, Brooklyn and Randi Wells; as well as, nieces and nephews, and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
