Raymond Howard (Pete) Cooper, 77, of Richmond and Deltaville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene F. Atkins and an infant son, Raymond H. Cooper Jr. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jackie, and their two children, Jackie Raye Cooper and David T. Cooper of Richmond. He was the loving Poppa to his four grandchildren, Stone, Gentry and Cooper Dyson and Katherine Cooper; friend and cousin, Jim Miller, along with many other cousins. Ray was a successful, hardworking businessman with only an eighth grade education. He loved the rivah on the Rappahannock, Deadrise boats, watching the osprey, grooming and cutting the yard, building lots of creations with his hammer and saw and an honest to goodness proud country guy. Watching his grandkids grow up on the water and teaching them about fishing, boating and building boats was one of his life's best memories. Ray was in the auto glass industry for over 6o years. He was co-owner of West End Glass and later opened Auto Glass Plus+. A grateful thank you to the Bon Secours Hospice team. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road with visitation one hour prior to the service.
