Lisa was the daughter of Kenneth and Marcelle Rivenburgh. Lisa received her B.S. degree from UConn in 1986, and graduated from UConn School of Dental Medicine in 1990. She owned a successful Dental practice in Old Lyme, Connecticut. She had been married, and was the mother of two children. Lisa died after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
