HE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 14, 2003: 'Vernon M. Jarrell, 82, of Paris died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Long Cemetery with the Rev. Michael King officiating under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Lafayette, La., a son of John Rodolph and Savilla Lee Jarrell. He was a carpenter by profession and a member of the Baptist faith. He married Eunice Grimes on March 20, 1980, in Nacogdoches. Survivors include his wife, Eunice; three children, Sanda Howe, Deborah Leonard and Billy Jack Howe; ten grandchildren, Sherry Green, Kim Owens, Larry Wallace, Stephanie Berretta, Michelle Tarby, Chris Howe, Melonie Howe, Josh Howe, Brandy Null and Keith Leonard; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Faye Ceaser.
