Mary Ann Vance was born on September 11, 1928 in Rosebud, Texas, and passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2021, in Bellville, Texas. She was the daughter of John and Annie Mikeska Chernosky.

On September 27, 1937, Mary was Baptist at the Evangelical Unity of The Czech Moravian Brethren Church in Temple, Texas. She grew up in Rosebud, Texas, and graduated from Rosebud High School, then moved to Austin, Texas to attend business college. In 1978, she moved to Bellville, Texas and lived there the rest of her life. Mary worked for the Texas Government at the Texas State's welfare office. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking international cuisines, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her sister, Evelyn Flenniken from Alice, Texas; her brother, John Chernosky and his wife, Patricia, from Waller, Texas; nephews, John Wade Chernosky, Curtis Chernosky, and Ricky Flenniken; and her special friend, Katherine Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Chernosky and Annie Mikeska Chernosky.

The family will welcome guests for the visitation at Knesek Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, then proceed to the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery for the graveside services at 1:00 PM.
