Richard was the son of D C Hick and Julia Vernell Sumner Hicks and was the baby of the 10 children in the Hicks Family.
During his Junior and Senior years Richard was a Golden Gloves boxer and played football. Sometime after graduation he enlisted and served with the US Marines. He retired from the Austin Fire Department.
Survived by his children, Pamela, Cathy, Richard Jr, his step-daughter Crystal, his sister, Letha, 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and his ex-wife, Doris McCarty.
His parents and 8 siblings all deceased.
Burial-March 16, 2021 @ 12 pm-1 pm.
