Crystal was born April 23, 1941 in Canaan, Maine to Ellsworth and Edith (Smith) Johnson.
Crystal married Robert L. Young August 18,1962, and together they had a beautiful family of six children.
Robert's Air Force career took him, Crystal and their children to Air Force bases in New Hampshire, South Dakota, Wyoming, England, and Louisiana. Crystal had described the Air Force as exactly what she needed to get out of her shell. After Robert's Air Force retirement, the Young family called Iowa home for a time. They continued to move to new adventures which led Crystal to Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming and Missouri. Crystal loved her role as Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma. Being a Mother was her most cherished role.
Crystal is preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her son, Dana.
Crystal could brighten a room with her smile and strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved cooking, serving others and making blankets for new grand babies. She will be deeply missed and her impressions upon her family will last for generations to come.
She was laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Missouri March 27, 2021.
