Mrs. Florence died in Eureka Monday at the home of her son, George Smith of tuberculosis, aged 51 years. The deceased had been an invalid for the past five years and has been in the hospital at Wichita for sometime, having reccently been returned to her home at Utopia, but she took a sudden sinking spell and from which she never revived.

Mrs. Smith was born in Uniontown, Ohio in the year 1853.

In the 1874, she removed to Illinois and four years later was married to F.R. Smith. They came to Utopia, Kansas in the year 1878 and that had been her home up to her death.

She was the mother of seven children. Six with their father survive her. Those living in this county are; Mrs. Scott, of Utopia, George of Eureka, Stella and Glenwood of home.

The deceased joined the Methodist church when quite young and has lived a good Christian life and was the friend of all who knew her.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. I.C. Paugh at the George Smith residence, Tuesday afternoon and interment was in Greenwood cemetery.
