Marilyn B. "Mari" Hansen, age 85, of Poy Sippi, died peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.

She was born February 7, 1936, in Berlin, the daughter of Florian "Fritz" and Neola Wells Ceman. Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Berlin High School and studied nursing in Madison. On August 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Victor Hansen at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi.

Mari worked in the OB department at Wild Rose Hospital and for many years she was a nanny for families in the Madison and Appleton areas. She loved playing games, especially cards and Scrabble. She routinely studied and memorized the official Scrabble dictionary, making victory all but certain against all who dare challenge. Mari also cherished and collected angels and all things strawberry, which adorn her home and add to her lasting memory. But most importantly, Mari was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose highest priority was her family, always. Though she's gone from this earth, her greatest legacy, her children, remain, to share her memory, love and wisdom with others. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi.

She is survived by her husband, Victor; four daughters, Pam Van, Debbie (Jeff) Elsoffer, Marci (Kevin) Stahl and Cynthia "Tammy" Hansen; four sons, Jeff (Mary Kay) Hansen, Shawn (Sara) Hansen, Marc Hansen and Steve (Jodi) Hansen; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren (soon-to-be 10).

Mari was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jonathan Scott "Scotty" Hansen; two grandchildren, Sakaura Hansen and Shaun Van; her beloved sister, Betty Barr; and two brothers, Bob Ceman and Carl Ceman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. Interment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi.
