Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Christ Central Church for Charles Henry Harp, 80, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, June 8, 2015. Rev. Sherri Reynolds will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing. Mr. Harp graduated from Gadsden High School in 1953 and Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. He was born and raised in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where he was Board Chairman, Treasurer, Elder and Trustee. For over 50 years, taught Bible classes and Sunday School and Preached,. Mr. Harp worked as a Supervisor at Goodyear for 45 years. He was transferred to Freeport, IL to help build the Kelly Springfield Plant but returned to Gadsden after his mother was widowed. p.m. at the church prior to the service

Because his previous church had closed, he joined Christ Central Church 11 years ago. He absolutely loved his church and grieved when he couldn't attend. He was a member of the Monday's Men Bible Study, the Men's group and Wednesday Night Bible Study. He truly loved the members of Christ Central.

Mr. Harp was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Julia Harp; daughter, Edith Ellen Mueller; sister, Linda Hankinson; and aunt, Goldie Crossfield. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marva Harp; daughter, Carrie (Brian) Nunnally; son, Pierce (Cheryl) Harp; son-in-law, Doug Mueller; 5 grandchildren,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edith Mueller Fund or to Christ Central Church. Special thanks to the 8th Floor and SICU staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. The family will accept friends from 12:30-2:00
