Born in Yonkers, on July 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Arthur Klaus and the late Irma Herm Saabel.
Dorothy was a first generation American who was born to parents who emigrated from Germany. Throughout her life Dorothy continued her family relationships with her beloved Father's Saabel family in Germany.
Dorothy married Charles F. Little Jr. on July 28, 1962.
She had a master's degree in education however she received her bachelor's degree in music at the University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music.
Dorothy was a talented and devoted music teacher, employed by Guilderland, Colonie, and Shenendahowa Schools.
She was a member of the American Organ Guild and continued her love of music by playing organ music in churches in the Capital District.
She was a member of the Newtonville United Methodist Church and attended the Christ Church United Methodist Church in Queensbury.
She lived for music, arts and culture. She was a strong supporter for children's education and enjoyed reading, especially biographies of musicians and women. Dorothy had a love for traveling with her husband Charles and her family. She enjoyed visits to her relatives in Germany and to her son-in-law's family in the Netherlands. She enjoyed travel for all of its new experiences and had special memories of multiple trips to Alaska, including travel north of the Artic Circle.
Survivors include her husband Charles F. Little Jr.; her daughter Susan Little (Leendert Poot); sons, Paul Little and Stephen Little; grandchildren, Saskia Poot and Kyleigh Poot; as well as her sister Eleanor (Daniel) Boda.
Interment will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
