John Douglas Fraser was born August 10, 1944 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to George V. and Doris E. (Edwards) Fraser. John suffered a heart attack and passed away at his home in Fall River, Massachusetts on Monday, January 25th, 2021.

John graduated from Canadian Nazarene College in Winnipeg, Manitoba and pursued graduate studies at Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a minister by the Church of the Nazarene and served churches in Surrey, British Columbia and Nashua, New Hampshire. After leaving vocational ministry, John worked in retail for many years, most recently in the deli department at Roche Brothers Supermarket.

John loved God and he loved people. Friends and family alike knew him as a man of gentle spirit who always had time to listen. He was an avid student and lifelong learner who could engage in conversation on a wide range of subjects. John enjoyed music – he played piano, organ and cello in family music fests – and documenting every outing or family gathering with his video camera. He was a model railroad enthusiast with a special interest in Canadian railway cars.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years Kien (Du), sisters Fern Woodruff of Londonderry, NH and husband Bruce, Karen Eaton of Thornhill, ON and husband Jack, brother G. Richard (Rick) Fraser of Scarborough, ON, a son J. David Fraser of Chichester, NH and his wife Ranee, daughters Deborah Fraser of Burlington, MA and Stefanie Lee of Fall River, MA and husband Tae, grandson Skyron To of Fall River, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.

In addition to his parents, John was pre-deceased by his brother Charles Vernon Fraser and his former wife Judi (Gales) Fraser.
