She taught in the Chicago area before moving to the Triangle in 1970. She then worked as an elementary school teacher for Durham Public Schools until her retirement in 1996. Starting in 2004, Marcia and her husband split their time between Raleigh and the Palm Springs, Calif., area. They also traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. Marcia was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, line-dancing and spending time with family and friends.
