Bill Wood of Leakey, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 26, 2021.

Bill was born in Longview, Texas on August 8, 1934 and was the youngest son of Lawrence Odell and Irene Wood. The family would later move to the North Beach area of Corpus Christi, Texas. Bill attended and graduated from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was an All-State drummer in the Roy Miller High School band. It was during a combined band concert between Roy Miller High School and WB Ray, where he would meet his future wife Georgia Ann who played in the WB Ray Band. Upon graduating from High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Army. He spent much of his enlisted time stationed in Greenland. After returning from the Army, Bill married the love of his life Georgia Ann, his wife of 62 years. The couple soon started their family welcoming a daughter and two sons. The family settled in Portland, Texas, where they would remain until 1992. Bill worked and retired from the engineer department at the late Reynolds Metals San Patricio Plant located in Ingleside (later the Alcoa Plant). After he retiring, he was not quite ready for the typical retirement life, instead they packed their bags and headed off to Jamaica. Bill continued to work at a plant located in Jamacia for the next three years. They made their way back to the United States in 1994, just in time to welcome what would be the first of their five grandchildren. Bill and Georgia soon settled in to what would be their forever home in Leakey, Texas. Both Bill and Georgia loved living in Leakey and considered it their own personal heaven on Earth.

Bill was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Georgia Ann Wood, his parents Lawrence and Irene Wood and siblings Sarah Smith and Charlie Wood. Bill was an active member of the Ranchero Drive Baptist church Kerrville, Texas for over 17 years and most recently a member of the Frio Canyon Baptist Church located in Leakey, Texas.
