Obituary for Johnny Everett Hunter
Mr. Johnny Everett Hunter, 80, of Jefferson, South Carolina passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia.

Johnny was born on July 29, 1938 in Jefferson, South Carolina to the late Thomas Henry ''Bud'' Hunter and Alice Williams Hunter(she was a Starnes... her mother was a Williams).He later met and united in marriage to Shelva Jean Catoe Hunter. Johnny was a jack of all trades. He retired from the National Guard after 33 years of faithful service. He owned a welding shop where he worked as a welder for many years. Johnny also worked for Fork Creek Turkey Farms where he was a truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and also spending time with his family and his cats to whom he loved dearly. Johnny held a special place in his heart for farming. He enjoyed growing different types vegetables and loved sharing his crops with everyone. Johnny was also known as being a storyteller and found joy in telling people stories throughout his life. He was a friend to all he knew and will be remembered for his compassionate heart.

Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving wife, Shelva Jean Catoe Hunter of Jefferson, South Carolina; sisters, Mary H. Lee of Blythwood, South Carolina and Rebekah Rollins of Columbia, South Carolina; also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church, 11078 Highway 151, Jefferson, South Carolina 29718.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Thurmond Johnson and Pastor Eric Plyler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church, c/o Elizabeth Sullivan, 504 East Elizabeth Street, Jefferson, South Carolina 29718.
