Troy Anthony Thompson, was born April 21, 1983 in Livingston, NJ to Lorraine Thompson and Errol Sue Poi-Kai. He grew up with siblings LaTasha Thompson and Kendra Gathers. As a teen, Troy loved spending his time with his grandmother; "Sister Jessie" was what everyone called her. They always loved cooking and gardening together. Troy and his late grandmother had a special bond that will never be broken. Sis Jessie loved the girls, but everyone knew Troy was her favorite.

Troy was truly gifted, very intelligent and a man of many talents. After graduating from Orange High School he was determined to join the armed forces and was soon discharged for medical reasons. Later on , he attended culinary school which helped him to master his passion for cooking. Not only was he an excellent chef, but Troy knew how to braid hair and he was good at it too. Talk about a life saver, black girls' hair is no joke!

Troy was a brave and loyal soldier, as well as a patient and loving father. He is survived by his only daughter, Bridget; his sons,Elisha, Amorian, Da'Quan,Ta-Quan, Kyree,Tristen and Kalani.

On March 17, 2021, Troy passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie Miranda.
