Eugene enjoyed fox hunting in his younger years. He graduated from Merryville High School, he also attended McNeese State University and The Oklahoma School of Farriers. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville where he served as a Deacon. Eugene retired from the Beauregard Tax Assessors Office and also from the Beauregard Parish School Board where he drove a bus for 30 plus years. He was a former member of the Lions Club and past president of the Cooper Cemetery Association. Eugene enjoyed getting together with friends and family to cook and fellowship. He was a very devoted son and took care of his mom and dad during their days on earth. Eugene was employed by the Beauregard Sheriff's Office as a deputy and was stationed at the Beauregard Parish Court House. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his uncles, Kenneth D. Matthis; Samuel D. Matthis and wife, Judy, all of Merryville, LA; very special friends, John Jackson and Dana of Moss Bluff, LA; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy E. Morrison, Sr. and Lola Mae Matthis Morrison; maternal grandparents, David Vernon and Ada Mae Welch Matthis; paternal grandparents, Henry B. and Mattie Lee Hare Morrison; numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
