Rosemary Moore, 83, of North Charleston, a former business teacher at TTC and Rice Business College, died Friday afternoon in a local nursing home.
Rosemary was born July 15, 1937 in Bridgeport, AL, a daughter of Clifford A "Casey" Moore and Ruby Duke Moore. She and her parents moved to Charleston in 1942, where her parents both took jobs at the Charleston Naval Shipyard supporting the war effort. She attended Ben Tilman Elementary School and graduated from Chicora High School in 1955, where she was involved in all manners of sports and activities. She was a member of the Remount Road Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Confederacy. She was formerly highly active in sports, playing softball on two separate teams, and was on the Senior Olympic Team, where she won gold medals in sprints and swimming. Rosemary enjoyed education, singing, dancing, and working with children in and out of her position as a former daycare worker at Remount Road Baptist Daycare. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Anne Elinka Moore; and her grandson, Ryan Schupp. Surviving are a daughter, Krinna Schupp of North Charleston; a son, Lt Col. Bo Schupp, USAF ret. of Moncks Corner; a sister, Tamora Ray of Goose Creek; three grandchildren, Brianna Elinka Schupp, Kelen D. Tyree, and Kayce Paige Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Maui Elinka Cordova and Rosalie Faye Marchant.
