Margaret Ann Adams was a gift to Smith County, Texas on March 15, 1943. Born the third child of the late Costroma and Margaree Freeman-Adams, Margaret Ann was the gift that kept on giving. She was daughter, a sister (sometimes referred to as #3), and a learner that kept on learning. She was a devoted, wife mother, servant, friend, nurturer, teacher, councilor, counselor, salesperson, entrepreneur, and lecturer. Most of all, Margaret was an unwavering Believer. She joined Friendship C.M.E. at an early age, serving there until uniting with the Friendship Church of God in Christ.

Margaret was an honor graduate of Bragg Morris High School, later earning several licensing, accreditation and certificates. She was the wife of Willie Dixon for 58 years. Two sons, Darrell and Vincent were born to this union.

Her gifts led her as Administrator/ Teacher of Juanita Parker’s Daycare, Teacher’s assistant at Bragg Morris High School, while operating Margaret’s Sewing Shop, Salesperson at J. B. White’s, Sewing Factory worker. Margaret was employed at Lindale ISD retiring after 19 years, serving in several positions, official and unofficial.

Margaret served in many positions at her local and district church. Her ministry served the Lindale community as a faithful weekly visitor of the sick /shut-in and unchurched, speaker for ministries and various occasions. A Spiritual Councilor, friend… Margaret was all of this to her family, as well as “Family Jokester.” SHE DID IT HER WAY!

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; Costroma and Margaree Adams, Two Brothers, Larry and Chris Adams, and Sister, Carol Adams. Survivors includes; Husband Willie Dixon, Sons, Darrell and Vincent Dixon, Brother Robert (Norma) Adams, Torrance, CA, Sisters, Shirley (Edward) Dickey, Lindale, TX., Ruthie Young, Ben Wheeler, TX., and Martha Hayter, Tyler, TX., grandchildren Jarvis ( Tory) and Nala Dixon, and Karmen Baxter. Four great grand-daughters, McKenzi, Karmyn, Brya, Jade and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and church family.
