Mr. Walker was born the son of the late James Edward Walker and Mary Seth Patterson Walker-Luoma (David) on January 18, 1979 in Bennettsville, SC, and was the second born of three children, James "Jamie" E. Walker, Jr. (LaTessa) and Courtney Lockamy.
He was a golf course maintenance employee with the Links Group and Swing Bridge Operator. He was known to many as "Big Sam" and by the name "Strong Bear" from his Native American heritage. He never met a stranger and his smile brightened the path of those who he met. He was a friend to many and his friendship was defined by Proverbs 18:24, "A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother".
He is survived by: his mother, Mary Seth (David); his maternal grandmother, Sally Miller Patterson; his siblings, Jamie (LaTessa) and Courtney; six nephews, Jacob, Dakota, Katori, Isaiah, Cheveyo, and Samuel; two nieces, Riley and Mia; a large number of uncles, aunts, and cousins; and a multitude of life long friends.
He was predeceased by: his father, James; his wife, Kelly; his paternal grandparents, James W. Locklear and Betty Smith; and maternal grandfather, Roderick G. Patterson.
The Walker family will receive family and friends from 6-8PM, Monday evening, at the Walker-Luoma residence, 4727 Bullard Road, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Walker-Luoma residence, 4727 Bullard Road, Hemingway, SC, 29554, at 12PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
