Mr. Robert Lee Burnett, 77, of Madisonville, formerly of Dewitt, passed away Wednesday evening, March 24, 2021 at Baptist Health Madisonville. He was the son of the late Finley and Alice Baker Burnett born on April 24, 1943 in Knox County.

Robert was a former coal miner, logger and of the Baptist faith. He was known to be a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He united in marriage with Imogene Hobbs and to this union a daughter was born. Later, he and Minnie Wheat were blessed with two daughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene and siblings, Mary Hughs, George Burnett, Maggie Franke and Anna Lois Butt.

Survivors include three beloved daughters, Donna Sue Burnett of Frakes, April Fuson and husband, Eulis, of Himyar and Gail Johnson and husband, Zack, of Barbourville; a sister, Bessie Asher of Pineville; a brother, Roy Burnett of Dewitt; nine grandchildren, Justin, Amanda and husband, Gary, Cody, James, Brittany, Zachary, Jodie, Bethany and Chaise; eight great grandchildren, Zachary, Beth, Brendon, Hunter, Calleb, Stella, Nathan Jr. and Remmington; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, March 31 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ron Shelton and Rev. Ray Dean officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mud Lick Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour. Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
