Bob was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a well-known Barber for many years serving the Aurora / Marionville area. He retired from the Aurora School District's Maintenance Department in 1991. In Bob's spare time he enjoyed restoring antique cars, fishing on Table Rock Lake, working in his garden and discussing politics.
On July 31, 1954, he married Margaret "Margy" Miller in Aurora, Missouri. She preceded him in death after 65 years of marriage on March 6, 2020.
Bob is survived by two sons, Tom Stewart (Debbie) and Mike Stewart (Dorothy) all of Aurora, Missouri; one daughter, Jerry Hodge (Beau) of Raleigh, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jaime McKinley (Brad) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Dylan Stewart (Breann) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dustin Stewart (Jenna) of Overland Park, Kansas, Samantha Spencer (Austin) of Chicago, Illinois, Cait Meganck (Jeremy) of Durham, North Carolina and Trista Kell (Chris) of Aurora, Missouri; twelve great-grandchildren, Marley, Preston and Quincey McKinley, Porter and Tilly Stewart, Ella and Adalee Stewart, Arthur and Wesley Spencer, Cara Meganck, and Gibson and Harlow Kell; one sister, Sue Miller (John) of Dallas, Texas, and one brother, Terry Stewart of Republic, Missouri.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Margy; his parents, Earl, and Bessie (Garrett) Stewart, and one brother, Joe Stewart.
A private family graveside service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Memorial donations may be made payable to Hospice Compassus or any animal shelter of your choosing in care of the funeral home.
