Janet Marie Simms Scott, 88, of Meridian, died March 25, 2021, at her daughter's home in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Scott was born April 23, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Charles Joseph and Margaret Elizabeth Imwold.

She attended a number of schools in Cincinnati, Philadelphia and California, graduating from Shaler High School near Pittsburgh. Janet loved her family. She was an avid bowler, voracious reader and enjoyed tending to her flowers. She volunteered at Butler Meals on Wheels and Benbrook Medical Center. She loved playing cards with her treasured friends. Janet enjoyed her 20 years of employment as a library aide, and then as a secretary for the Butler Area School District.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her three children, Darcy Simms Hunter (Karl) of Coraopolis, Sandra Simms Buckley (William) of Pittsburgh, and Robert Simms Jr. (Kathy) of Raleigh, N.C. Also surviving is her brother, Dr. Charles Imwold (Diane) of Clemmons, N.C. She had two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Scott, her love and partner in riding motorcycles and enjoying many bus tour trips together.

SCOTT - Friends of Janet Marie Simms Scott, who died Thursday, March 25, 2021, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Private interment will be held in Gruenwald Cemetery.
