Richard Joseph Porter, of Mashpee passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at Falmouth Hospital. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Harkness) Porter.
Born in Norwalk, CT son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Mills) Porter.
A graduate of Norwalk High School. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He was self-employed/owner of a remodeling company until his retirement.
He was an avid Celtics fan and enjoyed sailing and was involved with Little League.
Besides his wife of 56 years he is survived by two sons, Gregory R. Porter of Hollywood, FL and Kevin D. Porter of Southwest Harbor, Maine; a brother James Porter and his wife Barbara of Hartford, CT; sister-in-law Sharon Hanner and her husband Robert of Forestdale, brother-in-law, David Harkness and his wife Cynthia of Wilton, CT and several nieces and nephews.
Private services are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Richard's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
