Sandra K. Bailey, 73, of Oelwein, Iowa, died on Friday morning, March 26, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

Graveside Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck, Iowa with Rev. Bob Fread officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.
Interment: Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck, Iowa.

Sandra Kay Bailey was born September 6, 1947 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, in a car on the way to the hospital. She was the daughter of Josiah and Lois (Thompson) Bailey. She graduated from Union Whitten High School in the class of 1965. Sandy moved to Marshalltown where she continued her education at the American Institute of Business. She then moved to Des Moines where she worked for IMT Insurance for over 20 years. After retiring in 2002, Sandy moved to Oelwein.
Sandy was an avid blood donor (10 gallon certificate) and volunteer for Life Serve Blood Center with the Oelwein blood drives. She was recognized for helping save over 5,000 lives during her service. Sandy was a previous Retired and Senior Volunteer Board Member and volunteer at Wings Park Elementary School. She always emphasized education, honest work, common sense, frugalness and courtesy. Sandy loved amusement parks, family cook outs, garden vegetables (especially peas) and Christmas. She enjoyed watching and cheering for many sports teams, especially high school baseball, softball and basketball. Sandy was a regular cheerleader at many Oelwein games. One of her greatest honors was to be the Grand Marshall in the 2017 Oelwein Homecoming Parade.
Sandy is survived by her Sister: Pat Benter of Oelwein;
6 Nephews and 1 Niece: Bob, Brian, Bruce, Kallen, Kari, Kendall and Kyle and a
Sister-In-Law: Linda Bailey of Clive.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Robert Bailey
