Doris Black Walters, 90, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Wake Med. She was born January 30, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, one of eight children, to the late Ernest Lee Black and Ella Springs Black.
Doris and her siblings were raised on Black's Dairy Farm in Charlotte, NC, where they worked alongside their parents. She graduated from Berryhill School in Charlotte in 1949. Doris married the love of her life, James Moffett Walters Sr., who preceded her in death on August 13, 2015.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Ernest Lee, Henry, Harry, Query, Wesley, Christine, and Ann.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
