Mrs. Nelda G. Barton, age 82, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was born November 18, 1938 in Rector, Arkansas to Henry E. Fahr and Jewel Powers Fahr.
Mrs. Barton was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
She was Baptist by faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a manager in the food industry for many years before retiring. She loved golfing and gardening.
Mrs. Barton is preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband of twenty-one years, Thomas M. L. Barton; her brothers, Bobby Fahr, Roy Fahr, Denver Fahr, and Wilmer Fahr; her sisters, Dorothy Jones, Hattie Fahr, Melba Fahr, Wanta Fahr and Lindall Farmer; and her granddaughter, Nicole Stanley.
Mrs. Barton is survived by her daughters, Terri Ward and husband Randal of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Vicktoria Godfrey and husband Paul of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Sandra Asher and husband Mathew of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
Burial will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.
