Mr. David Lee SELBY, 77, of Cross Creek Health Care Center in Swan Quarter died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the center. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Walter O'Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Swan Quarter. Mr. Selby was born Nov. 20, 1926 in Hyde County. He was the son of the late Arthur Selby and the late Mable Selby. He attended Hyde County Schools. He furthered his studies at North Carolina A&T State University. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Kehe of Pensacola, Fla., and Beverly Howard of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, David L. Selby of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Lucinda Davenport of Norfolk, Va., Rebecca Bryant of Engelhard and Flonia Davenport of Virginia; and a brother, John Selby of Briarwood, N.Y. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. for the final viewing. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Rebecca Bryant of 20 Green Hill Road in Engelhard.
