Rita Mae Cook, age 87, resident of Benetwood Apartments and formerly of North East, passed away at UPMC Hamot Hospital on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. She was born in Lackawanna, NY on June 1, 1933, daughter of the late Suzanna G. Cook. She lived in Bradenton, FL for 20 years before settling in North East.
Rita worked in the food service industry throughout her working years. She had a God-given talent to play many musical instruments by ear.
Rita is survived by five children: Daniel Hunt, and Sue Babcock, both of Ripley, NY, David, and Evonne Hunt, both of North East, PA, and Karen Hunt, of Albermarle, NC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother: Jim Bentley, of FL and NC. In addition to her mother, Rita was preceded in death by daughter, Rena Furman, and brother, Robert Bentley.
A private interment will be held at East Ripley Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Harborcre
