Elmore Jacob "E.J." Bright and Sallie Ann Noble were the parents of Avery, Bessie, Lena, Letha, Mable, Arlie May, Blanche, Clifford Elmore, and Lester K.

Five of the children are buried in the McLean Cemetery (Avery, Bessie, Lena, Mable and Blanche). Their parents are listed on a family marker in that cemetery, but died in Southern California in 1919 (Elmore) and 1935 (Sallie). The children's maternal grandparents (Thomas and Matilda Keene Noble) and an aunt and uncle (Marcellus Bright and Fannie Noble), as well as several cousins, also are buried in McLean Cemetery. Their paternal grandparents (Samuel and Cassie Bright) are buried in a different cemetery in McLean County.
