LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Charles Dru Hunter, 35, will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Andrew Tate will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teen Challenge.

Dru passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of Charles Jeffrey Hunter and Karen Vincent Newman. He served in the United States Army and was a welder by trade. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, kayaking, boating and water sports.

Surviving are his son, Cameron Hunter; companion, Christa Allman; father, Jeff Hunter (Billie Jean); mother, Karen V. Newman (Greg); paternal grandmother, Ottey Hunter; stepsister, Brooke Chamberlain (Jake); and step-brother, Hunter Evans. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Charles Hunter; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Brenda Vincent.
