James P. Gregory, Jr. (Jack), 88, of Manchester, beloved husband of 58 years to Florence (Mizak) Gregory died Thursday, March 25th, at home after battling numerous illnesses for over two years.

Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, he graduated James J. Ferris High School (1953), honorably discharged Veteran of the US Army Signal Corp., and graduated from the RCA Institute in 1959.

His career was as a technical writer for Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for about 30 years, retiring in 1994. James was a very caring and patient father and grandfather.

He was an active communicant of Saint James Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He actively volunteered on the Hockanum River Park Committee and the Community Emergency Response Team. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national Association for Amateur Radio. He was a life associate of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Florence, he is survived by his sons, the Rev. James T. Gregory of Woodbury and Thomas M. Gregory of Vernon, his daughter, Patricia G. Martin and her husband Michael of Vernon, his sister Frances Pavick, and 5 brothers: Marco Gregory and wife Margaret, Frank and wife Roberta, LeRoy and wife Marilyn, Samuel and Daniel, and his two granddaughters, Sara and Shelby Gregory both of Manchester. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary (Freschi) Gregory, and four siblings: Anna, Julia, Maria, and Louis.

Burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
