FRANKLINTON - Irma Wood James, age 86, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 at her residence in the Hays Creek Community. She was the widow of Alton C. James and a member of the Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Myrna J. and Roby Graves of Franklinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Alton C. Jr. and Carol James of Grand Bay, Ala.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Joyce J. and Greg Brooks of Stockton, Ala., Donna J. and Lester Bankston of Franklinton, William O. and Christine James of Irvington, Ala. and Jean Graves of Franklinton; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, Bolivar E. and Burnette Ard Wood; two grandsons, Ricky Graves and Terry Graves; seven brothers and nine sisters.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home, continuing tomorrow after 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Thomas Graves and the Rev. Fredrick Brumfield will officiate, with interment following in the Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church Cemetery.
