Lloyd W. Gibbs Lloyd W. Gibbs, 68, 2625 S. Cedar St., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993, at a Sioux City hospital after a three-week illness of cancer. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Christy Morningside Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven L. Dornbusch, of Morningside Lutheran Church, officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and the ashes will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 7 a later 9 p.m. to today at the funeral home.

Mr. Gibbs was born Nov. 18, 1924, in Mapleton, Iowa, and moved to Sioux City at an early age. He married Leona M. Price Sept. 1, 1946, in Elk Point, S.D. He worked for IPS in the gas construction division for 35 years, retiring in January 1986.

Mr. Gibbs was a Lutheran. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia A. Davis of Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara and her husband, Jim Ross of Sioux City; two sons, Earl D. Gibbs and his wife, Elizabeth of Tucson, Ariz., and ATI Lloyd W. Gibbs Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Oak Harbor, Wash.; three sisters, Leona Mason of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Evelyn Voland of Green Valley, Ariz., and Viola Johnson of Sioux City; five brothers, Ralph of Elko, Nev., Kenneth of Lynn, Mass., Silas and Don, both of Phoenix Ariz., and Arlo of Fallon, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Orlando and Marion.
