Robert Franklin Friedl, passed away March 25, 2021, in Searcy, Arkansas after fighting a month-long battle with medical complications due to Covid.

Born on July 13, 1935, to Alva Clement Friedl and Julia C. Taylor in Chillicothe, Missouri, and grew up in the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. Following high school, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps in 1952 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving tours of duty in Okinawa, Japan, and in later years in Korea near the demilitarized zone. He was married to Sandra Lydia Marks on September 9, 1957. The couple initially lived in Orange County, CA, then briefly in Arlington, TX, and settled in Little Rock, AR for 31 years before retiring to Marshall, AR.

After serving in the Marine Corps, Bob was a respected insurance agent for 25 years. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman his entire life running multiple businesses simultaneously including real estate, engraving, ranching and on-line retail. He enjoyed woodworking and carving, model aircraft, and being a private pilot. In retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle, and gardening. He was instrumental in the foundation of the Welcome Home Volunteer Fire department, donating land and time to help provide safety to his community.

Robert was also active in his local parishes, donating much of his skills as a word-working artist to create hand-carved religious pictures for the Catholic Churches in his local area.

Robert was preceded in death by his faithful and loving wife, Sandra, and his brother Richard. Robert is survived by his sisters Jane, Judy, and Jeanette, his seven children, Christopher, Robert, Sandra, Andrew, Patrick, Laura, and Michael; 38 grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Robert will be missed by his family, community, and his friends.

A public rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM before the funeral Mass. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on March 29, 2021, at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Harrison, AR with Reverend Paul McCambridge, FSSP, officiating. Interment will follow at Mary Mother of God Cemetery
