He was the husband of Mary Ann (Svetik) Parsons since August 28, 1945. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Robert A., Sr. and Sophie (Chedrick) Parsons.
Robert was employed as a truck driver/delivery person for the former Coca Cola Bottling Company, Palmerton, later Coca Cola, Mount Pocono. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. A graduate of the Palmerton High School, Robert was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Fan. He enjoyed football and was a Philadelphia Eagles enthusiast.
