Sammy, 62 years of age and a resident of Bossier City passed away on March 24, 2021 at the Carpenter House in Shreveport. He was born on September 24, 1958 to Reba Scallion Jackson and Rev. William C. Jackson in Zwolle, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Stephanie Ann Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Gardner Jackson; a daughter, Valerie Lake and husband Charles; a granddaughter, Alana Grace Lake; 2 sisters, Patsy Jackson and Lynn Sims and husband Dickie; and a brother, Daniel Jackson.

Sammy was a caring and selfless man who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. His great sense of humor and easy-going personality made him a friend to many. One of his greatest passions was making music and he was especially talented with the guitar. He used his gift of music and would play at church and occasionally at the VA Hospital in Shreveport. Sammy enjoyed collecting guitars and always made time to attend guitar shows. He worked for many years with the City of Shreveport and ultimately retired from Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR). He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Carpenter House in Shreveport for the compassionate care they provided Sammy and his family during such a difficult time.
