Thelma Elaine Quamme Smith age 86, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born in Richland County, North Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Josie Quamme. Mrs. Smith was raised near Galchutt, ND and graduated from Wahpeton High School. She married Chester C. Smith in Seattle, WA in 1943 and lived briefly in Wisconsin before moving to Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Smith owned a restaurant in Hendrum, MN for 30 years. She resided in Thief River Falls for 20 years where she volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and with the Quilters at Zion Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Smith; three sisters, Doris Lugert, Carmen Bertling and Shirley Bryson and four brothers, Raymond ,Quinton, Ralph and Harvey Quamme. Survivors include (removed).
