SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Pernia Mae Warren Rogers, 84, will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. Reverend Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by Dr. Ernie Don Rogers. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, September 5, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Rogers was born June 18, 1922 in Blue Springs, MS, where she was baptized at Beech Springs Baptist Church and graduated from Sherman High School.

She passed away Monday, September 4, 2006 in Shreveport, LA following a brief illness. Pernia moved to Shreveport in 1943. She worked in two family owned grocery stores, Continental Baking Co. and retired from the Bordon Milk Co. Also, she made many "little" friends, over a period of 25 years, at Creswell Street Church of Christ nursery. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Eastern Star and a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her life centered around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. She had a gift of commitment, dedication and a great work ethic. She set high standards in all of her undertakings. But most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Warren; her husbands, Charles Leslie Rogers and Arthur Stevens; her daughter, Christie Rogers Kennedy; four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her son, Ernie Don Rogers and wife, Jolene; her daughters, Charlcie Ogg and husband, Mike, and Kay Wright and husband, Ed; her sister, Imogene Little; her brothers, John Warren, Jr., Bonnie Warren and Carl Warren; her grandchildren, Dulcie Ann Summers and husband, Aaron, Joel Don Rogers and wife, Darla, Justin Davis Rogers, John Roger Foster and wife, Sheryl, JoAnna Foster Greer, Bobby K. Thomas and Charlcie Christie Kay Leitner and husband, Brad; her great-grandchildren, Pheobe Ruth Rogers, Samuel Aaron Summers, Isabella Grace Summers, Luke Ethan Rogers, Joshua John Foster, Caleb Christopher Foster and many extended family members.

Pallbearers will be John Foster, Joel Rogers, Justin Rogers, Graham Wright, Brad Leitner, Craig Kennedy, Aaron Summers, Mike Ogg and Ed Wright.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center, 5th floor east, for their compassionate care. We want to thank the many dear friends and family members, especially John and JoAnna, for their love and care.
