SOUTH BEND - Raymond James Ferguson, Sr., 63 years old of South Bend, formerly of Edwardsburg, passed away on March 23, 2021 at his home, with his family present, under the care of The Center for Hospice Care. He was born Dec. 21, 1957 in Cook County, IL, the son of John L. Sr. and Patricia Ann (Field) Ferguson and has lived in the Michiana area most of his life. After school, he worked for Vincent Bach of Elkhart working with musical instruments, then he was an over-the -road trucker , lastly working for Blue Ox and finally he was a Real Estate Inspector in the area.

Ray was married on May 1, 1982 in Sandy, OR to Melissa A. Myrick and she survives with their five children; Sean Ferguson of Mishawaka, Timothy (Tracy) White of Goshen, Raymond (Shawna) Ferguson, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Jonathan Ferguson of South Bend and Amber (Jason) Coppler of Mishawaka. There are 9 grandchildren; Brianna (Donovan) Schroeder, Brenden (Alexis) White, Zachary Ferguson, Preston White, Justin Coppler, Mikayla Ferguson, Abigail Ferguson, Nickolas Coppler & Ian Gipson. Also surviving are his siblings; Joanne Ferguson of South Bend, John Jr. (Joan) Ferguson of Sandy, OR and Pamela (David) Colen of Osceola. Family who preceded Ray in passing are his parents and a daughter, Victoria Ferguson.

Family and friends may gather, using the COVID restrictions and guidelines, on Tuesday March 30, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Ironwood UP Church, 4609 Ironwood Dr., South Bend. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening with Pastor Clinton Walker, officiating. There will an Interment on Wednesday Morning at 11:00 AM, March 31, 2021 at the graveside in Reams and Norton Cemetery, south of Cassopolis, MI, with the Military Rites by the U.S. Army Honor Guard playing Taps and the Edwardsburg American Legion/VFW as the firing squad.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
