George W. Marr, 90, of New Berlin died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan View Terrace in Jacksonville. He was born June 24, 1902, in Green County, Ky., the son of Andrew Jackson and Fannie Mae Marcum Marr. He married Audrey M. Marcum in 1921 in Green County, Ky. Preceding him in death were a son, George, a granddaughter, six brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Marr was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1967. He was a member of United Baptist Church of New Berlin and a lifelong member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau, serving on its board of directors. He was a member of the University of Illinois Extension Board and a 64-year member of Lodge 450 AF&AM of Loami.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey M.; a son and two daughters; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.

Services at United Baptist Church of New Berlin, with the Rev. Sam Wilcoxen officiating. Burial in Woodwreath Cemetery, Island Grove.
