He was born in Danby and had lived in this area all his life.
A farmer, he had been a member of the Venice Town Board and the Genoa Board of Education and was a member of the United Church of Genoa. He had been active in conservation and sportsmen's clubs also.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Baildon Grover; three daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Dunkle of King Ferry, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Rawls of Goldsboro, N.C., and Miss Joan Grover of Newport, Pa.; a son, John Grover of Genoa; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Dora) Collins of Ithaca; a brother, Delbert Grover, also of Ithaca; five grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at the convenience of the family in the Genoa United Church. Burial will be in the spring in North Lansing Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Wade Funeral Home in Moravia.
