Douglas "Doug" Stanley Adams Sr., 78, died March 24 ,2021 in Harrodsburg. Born September 4, 1942 in Preachersville, Ky, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Dorothy Susan Messer Adams. He ran his own bike shop at the age of eleven. Doug worked as an Excavator for Corman Excavating and ran a salvage yard in Junction City. Doug loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed working on cars, playing pool and lighting fireworks. Doug loved corvettes and was a huge Earnhardt Nascar and UK basketball fan. He rescued pets from bad situations. Doug showed his love for Chevy when he went on his first date in a 1950 Chevy. Doug would give you the shirt off his back and was known as being "one of the best people you'd ever meet."
He is survived by his wife Alma Louise Adams; five daughters, Denise Adams Ynclan, Rhonda (Ray) Spears, Mary Breeze, Amy (Jimmy) Day and Jamie (Jimmy) Davis; three sons, Chuck Callahan, Douglas Adams Jr. and John Ross; one brother Jim (Elizabeth) Adams, and two sisters Mary Adams, Shelby Jean "Jeannie" (Mack) Keaton; twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 pm, Monday, March 29, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Richard Nai will be officiating. Burial will be held in Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Ross, Josh Reardon, TJ Reynolds, Daniel Morehead, Jason Morehead and Derek Brady. The honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Douglas Keaton, John Ross, Ray Spears and Shane Ynclan. Visitation will be 12 pm – 2 pm, prior to the service, Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.
