Miss Elrod was killed at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday during the robbery of a local jewelry store.
She was born Nov. 16, 1959, in San Angelo.
She was a graduate of Central High School where she was a member of the Tex-Anns drill team and the Pheta Tr-Hi-Y Sorority, Miss Elrod had attended Angelo State for two years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Festus A. Elrod of San Angelo; a sister, Diana Elrod of San Angelo; a brother Gary Elrod of San Angelo; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Mayes of Roscoe; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. G. A. Elrod of Abilene.
The family requests memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Note: The perpetrators of this crime were convicted and are now deceased:
Louis Aubrey Williams, DOB: 09-18-1944, deceased 06-04-2023 in the Texas Department of Corrections and;
Harold Buford Jones, DOB: 09-19-1924, deceased 12-31-1986 in the Texas Department of Corrections.
