Don Marr, 82 of Rustburg passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1,2021 but not before he spoke his last words "I love you" to the love of his life and wife of 60 years Linda Blankinship Marr.

He is the son of the late Victor & Elsie Marr. He is survived by three children, Lisa Knight (Michael) of Rustburg, Don Marr, Jr. of Rustburg, Todd Marr (Dana) of Lynchburg. Papa or Pa Don's grandchildren include, Sarah Fowler (Rob), Jessica Wright (Adam) and Ashtin Hilbish (Jake) all of Lynchburg. Additionally, he is survived by seven great grandchildren LeeAnn, Amber, & Spencer Fowler, Hunter & Logan Wright, Lennon & Karmen Hilbish.

Don's surviving siblings are Jean DeJarnette (Ronnie) of Lynchburg, Phyllis Witt (Billy) of Bedford, Jimmy Marr (Anne) of Altavista, Roberta Morton (Drever) of Lynchburg, and Linda Worsham (Mike) of Wilmington, NC. He was preceded in death by six sisters, Alta Creasy, Helen Kelly, Margaret Fox, Mildred Hutcherson, Agnes Stinette, and Edith Barker.

Don was employed & managed for over 30 years with Universal Electric/Magnetek in Altavista Va. Don also was active in the Altavista Chamber where he served on the Board of Directors. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving 4 years. Don was a member & attended New Hope United Methodist church where he also served as Chairman of the Board. Don loved the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, mowing his beautiful lawn or planting his vegetable garden for homegrown tomato biscuits. He loved sports, he served as President for 4 years on the Rustburg High School Football boosters and coached many little league baseball games.

A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Roger Roller officiating.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Linda Marr, 179 Lindsay Lane, Rustburg, VA.

Hospital or to New Hope United Methodist Church, 2918 Browns Mill Rd. Rustburg, VA 24588.
